Hey there!
Michelle is a NYC-based lifestyle photographer specializing in portraits and families
My life behind the lens began when I was about 10 years old at summer camp. After I quickly learned that I was allergic to just about everything the camp had to offer, I ended up with a double period of photography. I stepped into the cold, crisp darkroom, watched photos develop right before my eyes, and knew I was home.
My love of photography led me to Syracuse University where I completed a BFA in Art Photography. Since then, I have been fortunate to work at some of the most prestigious studios and publications in New York City. I interned at the Annie Leibovitz Studio and InStyle; held staff positions at Cosmopolitan, People Stylewatch, and Glamour; and contributed to Elle.com, Marie Claire, Seventeen, TheBump.com, Glamour.com and Motherly. I also partner with brands like Loyal Hana, Mo’Mommies, The Dough Project, and Av Norden.
After all of these experiences, I built up the confidence to step out and do my own thing. Leveraging my unique editorial perspective, my love of childhood, and my knack for storytelling I decided to focus on creating gorgeous family portraits. It quickly became my passion, and, thankfully, my full-time gig. That’s how Michelle Rose Photo was born!
My goal at every shoot is bright, sunny, happy photos that really show each family’s unique essence. I’m obsessed with finding the light that makes you glow, capturing a genuine moment in time, and creating an heirloom that you will cherish forever.
I know that it’s an honor and a privilege to share these special, delicate times with you and your family. I pride myself on creating a calm, comfortable and fun atmosphere, and the results are truly rewarding. When I catch a mom’s expression as she watches her partner interact with their baby, hear parents excitedly cheering over my shoulder while they watch their little one be photographed, or just receive feedback like “you truly captured us”—it’s the best feeling ever.
Can’t wait to capture your best moments!
